Evaluation Blog - " The Breakfast Club, Title sequence remake. "

1. What went well -
  • Good amount of participation within the group.
  • Everyone in the group worked well together (communication & contributing ideas).
  • Worked well to finish filming the title sequence.
  • Completed editing the title sequence.
  • When a problem occurred, we worked as a group to overcome it.
2. What didn't went well on the shoot / Improvements -
  • We could of used a tri-pod to achieve a more balanced scene.
  • Not enough shot techniques included.
  • Think about the background / backdrops, so it doesn't interfere with the scene.
Overall, everyone within the group worked well together by communicating and suggesting ideas to improve the title sequence. Our group's filming process and editing went well as we stuck to the story board and got every thing completed within the time given. Although, we could of incorporated more camera shot techniques to add more perspectives from different characters. As well as making sure to check around our surroundings within our shots, so that we don't include distracting back drops which could confuse the audience viewing the title sequence.

3. Shots to improve on -

1. The shot of the 5 students in the detention room -
To improve on this shot, next time I would make sure that all the characters are present within the scene and sat in the same seat, as when they first walked into the detention room. As this would make the scenes flow better and doesn't cause any confusion to the audience.

 2. The shots of the students walking into the school -
To improve these shots, it would be better to incorporate more camera techniques such as close ups, medium close up, long shots and point of view shots. This is so that there would be a range of different shots, so viewers can perceive the characters in various angles.  As well as, I wouldn't edit all the students entering the school with the same shots. Each student would have a different variety of shots, or a difference sequence of shots.

3. The shot of the lockers -

This scene of the lockers showing grafitti on the lockers "I hate mondays" was really shaky and could be improved by using a tri-pod next time to film, as the shakiness of the camera gives the impression of an unstable view, which could cause the scene to look un-prepared.
